IT Tech Summit saw over 400 attendees turn up to hear from world-class IT speakers and business leaders across multiple interactive panels, and deep-dive sessions.
Attendees include developers, UX designers, CTOs, CIOs, product managers, project managers, Directors and a myriad of people from the broader tech community.
itContracting Associate Director Tracy Quinlan and IT recruiter Joanne Harrington attended the event to soak up the latest insight and industry trends that affect IT professionals in the areas such as Cyber security, IT Talent, Diversity and Circular Economy.
Topics tackled on the day included how Ireland was prepared to compete on the global tech platform, AI & Emerging Tech, Futures Psychology, Digital Health and Augmented Humans.
Director for cyber crime research, Robert McArdle spoke about how to build up your cyber security teams while remaining agile, and exploring the cost of cyber-crime, ransomware attacks and data breaches. He acknowledged that there is no longer the question if companies will come face to face with real threats but when it does, are they adequately prepared.
Robert also covered various topics which included cloud security, security operations centre, DevSecOps, GDPR & Data Privacy and Data Protection.
This year’s IT Tech Summit also saw the new ‘Skill Hub’ for 2019 that hosted Q&A sessions on all things tech from collaborative working to communication, training and management.
Other featured speakers included Charley Woodward, the Director of VMware’s EMEA Wide Renewals who spoke around “daring to be yourself”. She explored how diversity is not just words on a page and encouraging us all to take real action tackling diversity focusing on ability, not disability.
