itContracting IT Recruitment Video Series: Block Chain & 2019 IT Trends
At the end of each year, good IT recruiters like to tell their candidates what possibility lies ahead in the New Year for IT trends and predict emerging job areas.
In this week’s video instalment, itContracting‘s Senior IT Recruiter Tom Leonard explores what 2019 may hold for IT professionals across the various tech fields, including emerging areas such as block chain, and edge computing.
In the video, Tom explores block chain and where he sees the potential workforce openings in this new frontier of technology:
“So what typical job areas will block chain and its applications create? Well, first and foremost, I think in its early days because it’s still a relatively young technology, it’s our architects and consultants; the people building block chain platforms and applications will see the emerging jobs.
“The second are going to be software engineers and developers. Interestingly, if we start to see see more development kits coming out, it will increase the capacity for software engineers to move into this area. People even working in traditional software development areas, if they have particular strong skills in API, which seems to be very applicable for block chain applications, they should see a lot more opportunity in this area too,” says Tom.
What other areas in block chain did Tom flag as potential job areas to get into? Watch the ‘itContracting Recruitment Series with Tom Leonard: Block Chain & 2019 Trends’ below for more:
