itContracting are currently seeking applicants for an Enterprise Architect. This is a day rate contract position located with our client in Dublin. The initial contract duration is 12 months with further extensions. This is a hybrid role, requiring 2 days on-site per week. 

The primary focus of the Enterprise Architect will be on leading architectural initiatives to support our client’s strategic objectives, including digital transformation, modernisation of the existing application portfolio, and improving IT infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead architecture design sessions and present architectural concepts to executive stakeholders.
  • Maintain a repository of architectural outputs/diagrams to effectively describe the IT enterprise.
  • Develop and maintain the client’s overall architecture framework, aligning it with business objectives and industry best practices.
  • Design and oversee the implementation of enterprise-wide systems and applications, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security.
  • Provide ongoing strategic guidance to ensure ICT solutions align with the client’s remit and constraints (e.g., Information Security, GDPR).
  • Evaluate internal functions, business development strategies, and IT processes, suggesting improvements for alignment with the organisation’s ICT strategy.
  • Create, maintain, and manage ICT architecture models and their components.
  • Assist with IT transformation strategies to modernise legacy IT estates.
  • Drive innovation through leveraging emerging technologies.

Key Experience/Competencies/Skill sets:

  • Minimum of 7 years experience as an Enterprise Architect 
  • Demonstrated experience in enterprise architecture principles and application, including creating architectural diagrams and outputs.
  • Proven ability to lead architecture design sessions and communicate effectively with executive stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with architecture modelling tools and enterprise architecture repositories.
  • Experience defining and enforcing infrastructure standards and best practices.
  • Relevant certifications such as TOGAF Certified.
  • Continuous learning within the field of software, solution, or enterprise architecture, including knowledge of current and emerging trends.
  • Familiarity with containerisation and enterprise Kubernetes concepts and their implications on application development and deployment.
  • Expertise in API architecture models and application integration patterns.
  • Experience defining and implementing IT governance processes to ensure alignment with business goals and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience architecting the modernisation of “monolithic” applications towards stateless, decoupled, RESTful, API-driven models.
